Frequently Asked Questions

Q. How long does semi-permanent cosmetics last?
Typically, this service lasts 1.5-2 years. In some cases, up to 3 years. Main factors that affect the duration are: age, sun exposure, facial products used, and skin type. When it starts fading, pigment is designed to fade softly and not alarmingly. If you were to never get your semi-permanent cosmetics touched up again, it will completely fade out in 7 - 10 years.
Q. Do you carry colors for blondes and those with red tones in their hair?
Yes, I carry colors for a wide range of haircolors. However, I will caution blondes from choosing a "blonde" color, but rather a very light brown to a taupe color because the hairstrokes will not show up on typically fair skin. Most eyebrow pencils are light brown/taupe for blondes.
Q. Does this hurt?
I get asked this question a lot. It's hard to give the correct answer, because everyone has a different pain tolerance. I, personally, fell asleep during my eyebrow procedure! However, I will say that I do use numbing agents (I have both topical and after the skin is broken (lidocaine) to assist with the discomfort). Is there discomfort? Yes. Is it unbearable? No. Unless you're extremely sensitive. Worth it?! 100%

Q. How long does an appointment last?
Typically two hours. Most of that time is spent on measuring, drawing, choosing colors, etc, before the actual procedure begins as well as numbing.

Q. How long do I have to refrain from exercising with eyebrows?
Please refrain from working out and major sweating for one week after. It is important to keep your eyebrows clean and dry. Enjoy a week off!

Q. Do I need a second appointment after my initial appointment?
It is highly recommended in order to achieve optimal results. This is with eyebrows, eyeliner, and lips. You may want to get them darker, change the shape a little bit, or even fill in any imperfections that may occur.

Q. My eyebrows are naturally uneven. Is that normal?
Yes, it is completely normal to have uneven eyebrows and uneven features in general. Due to how the skull is formed, muscles you employ to make expressions, and mother nature in general, eyebrows will have some variation. We can work to try and correct that, but as the saying goes," Never twins; always sisters"!

Q. What's the experience of getting eyebrows done like?
This blogger describes the experience perfectly: http://www.refinery29.com/3d-eyebrow-embroidery#slide-5

Q. Do you do a consultation?
I do your consultation on the day of service. However, I am happy to answer any questions ahead of time via text or phone call for free! If you choose to do an in-person consultation, it is 50$. If you end up booking, that payment goes towards the balance of your procedure cost.
